Winter Learning Journey

Activity 2: Your tour of New Zealand is going to start right here in Auckland. Watch the Tourist video for Auckland to learn about the awesome things that you can see and do in the city. Once you’ve finished, choose your favourite five activities from the video and list them on your blog.

Favourite activities:
1. Aucklands biggest landmark is Rangitoto Island which can be seen all over the city
2. Going to the shops in Ponsonby
3. Go and have a fun time at the Auckland zoo
4. Go for walks near mission bay beach
5. Go and take a look at the modern malls

  1. Kia ora Maris Stella and welcome back to the holiday blogging programme. It is so nice to have you back!

I enjoyed reading your first post for the programme. Like you, I would love to go and visit Rangitoto. Have you ever been there? I have only visited the island a couple of times but I enjoyed it each time that I went. The view from the top of the volcano is amazing. You can see the entire city of Auckland from the top, including my house which is way out of the west side of the city.

I hope that everyone at your house is having a nice break from school. Do you have any special plans for the holiday? Aronui and I are thinking of going to the zoo next week but we'll have to see what happens weather-wise. It's been way too rainy and cold to walk through the zoo so far this holiday!

Hope that you will have time to post some more blogs over the next few weeks. I'll look out for you online!

    Rachel :)

  2. Hi Maris Stella,

I see you've just completed one activity in the blogging program. I'm reading your blog from my home in Canada and I've enjoyed seeing your list of special things to do in Auckland.

I hope you'll try to complete more activities in the next day or so. There are so many to choose from - hopefully you'll find the time to do a few more.

And I hope you're really enjoying our school break!

  3. Hi Maris Stella,

It's great that you've joined the holiday programme once again. But, along with Rachel and Leslie, I really hope you can post as much work as you can before the programme finishes tomorrow!

And same with Leslie, I too hope you're enjoying the break so far - and I hope you're coping well with the bad weather taking over the country!

  4. Hi Maris Stella, Miss D here from Paparoa Range School. Thanks for sharing your knowledge about Auckland's attractions. I like that you have added a range of activities suitable for everyone. Check out our attractions on the West Coast and our blog
