Summer Blogging

Activity 2
After exploring the gallery you decide to walk across the street to the national museum. It is an amazing place! There is so much information about the history of the country in this museum. It’s hard to know where to start!
After walking for a little while you come across a display with pictures of children that were taken in 1901 (over 100 years ago)! In this picture, the children are working on a local farm, milking cows. They are not going to school. Back in those days, children usually went to school until they reached the age of 12 or 13. They then left school and went to work. Imagine that you were alive 100 years ago. How would you feel if you had to leave school at the age of 12? Would you be happy or sad? On your blog, tell us how you would feel.
I would feel sad because I would want to leave school at the age of 14. The only reason why I would want to leave school at the age of 14 is because I would like to be more educated and to be a good smart thinking person who would always happy and brainy.

  1. Hey Stella,
just dropped by and looked at your blog it is amazing blogging. I agree I would be feeling sad because all your friends are gone and you have to leave school even though you were only there for a little while.

    Happy new year #2017

  2. Hi Maris Stella,

I completely agree with you! I would also feel quite sad if I had to leave school because I really enjoyed being a student. In fact, I loved being a student so much that I went to school until I was 33! I finished my PhD a few years ago and, although I am now working full-time, I still enjoy studying so much that I am taking a few papers at the university for fun.

I hope that you continue to study and to love learning throughout your life. I am positive that you will grow into a very smart adult who is always happy and very brainy ;-)

I love your positive attitude, Stella!

Wishing you a really happy 2017.

    See you online :)

  3. Hello again Stella! Whoops, looks like I called you the wrong name last time. Sorry.

I like this answer too, I think it's very smart to not just stay in school, but to enjoy learning as much as you can! I remember when I was in high school I felt bored so the time went very slowly, but last year I was studying teaching and really enjoying it, so time really quickly!

I hope you are enjoying all parts of school and it is excellent that you are using your holidays to learn more stuff by taking part in the Summer Learning Journey. I hope when you finish that you will keep learning and wanting to learn, maybe by reading more books or studying a topic you are interested in, or learning how to do something you couldn't do before.

    Keep up that great work!
